Terms of Service
Last updated: August 12, 2026
These Terms govern your use of Sumiza (sumiza.app, the "Service"). By creating an account you agree to these Terms.
1. The Service
Sumiza lets you submit a public YouTube video URL and receive an automatically generated summary (a TL;DR, chapter breakdown, key takeaways, and suggested action items). Summaries are generated using third-party transcription and language-model providers and may occasionally be inaccurate or incomplete — always verify anything important against the original video.
2. Accounts
You need an account to use the Service. You're responsible for keeping your password secure and for all activity under your account. You must provide a valid email address and be legally able to enter into these Terms.
3. Plans and quotas
Sumiza offers a Free plan and paid plans (Pro, Business), each with a monthly summary quota. Quotas reset at the start of each calendar month and do not roll over. Paid plans are billed and processed by our payment provider, Paddle, who acts as the merchant of record for your purchase.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service to process content you don't have the right to summarize or redistribute.
- Attempt to bypass plan quotas, rate limits, or other access controls.
- Use automated means to scrape, overload, or abuse the Service beyond normal use.
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
5. Content and intellectual property
You retain any rights you have in the videos you submit. Generated summaries are provided for your own use. We do not claim ownership of your submitted URLs or the resulting summary text, but we may cache and reuse a summary for the same public video across users to avoid redundant processing.
6. Disclaimer and limitation of liability
The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. Summaries are generated automatically and may contain errors. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Sumiza is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.
7. Changes to the Service or these Terms
We may modify the Service or these Terms at any time. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated Terms. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date at the top of this page.
8. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable to Sumiza's place of operation, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
